Are you eligible for a Ways to Work loan?To apply for a Ways to Work loan, you must:
- Be a resident of Yakima County
- Work a minimum of 20 hours per week
- Have a continuous work history of at least 3 months
- Be an involved parent of a child 17 years of age or younger
- Have a household income no greater than 80% of Yakima County's median income (example: a family of 4 earning $39,900 or less)
- Have exhausted other available loan sources, or have a history that would prevent loan approval from conventional lenders
- Have sufficient monthly disposable income available to repay the loan
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to repay the loan as determined through the application process
- Complete the required financial literacy training before closing
- Register for the rideshare program

How to get a Ways to Work loan
- Review the eligibility requirements (above)
- Call (509) 895-6466 to set up an application appointment
- Or obtain a Ways to Work application online and return it to the Ways to Work office: by mail at P.O. Box 9279, Yakima, WA 98909-0279; or FAX to (509) 452-7634
- Complete the loan application process
- Complete the financial management class
- Repay the loan within 2 years

Loan terms
- Automobile purchase - up to $4,000*
- Automobile maintenance or repair - up to $1,500
- Interest - 8% maximum
- Loan length - 24 months
* All automobiles must go through an inspection at a site chosen by Ways to Work. The cost of inspection is paid by the applicant at the time of the inspection.
