What is Migrant and Seasonal Head Start?
Families in the EPIC Migrant/Seasonal Head Start programs live at or below federal poverty levels and work in agriculture. EPIC Migrant/Seasonal Head Start programs operates from spring through early autumn to coincide with the agricultural work season. Children up to age 5 attend up to 12 hours per day, five days per week while their parents are at work. This gives parents a much safer option than taking children to the fields with them. EPIC Migrant/Seasonal Head Start programs are offered at our Bridgeport, Castlevale, East Wenatchee, Parker Heights, Sunnyside and Prosser Early Learning Centers.
Who are the EPIC Migrant/Seasonal Programs for?
EPIC Migrant/Seasonal offers services to migrant families only. Serving infants, toddlers and pre-school
(1 month -5 years)
EPIC Migrant/Seasonal programs are offered 5 days a week, up to 12 hours per day for a 7 month program.
Family must meet federal income guidelines
At least 51% of household income must come from agriculture work
For Migrant families only – Families must
Have physically relocated to obtain work in agriculture in the last 24 months

Is transportation provided?
EPIC Migrant/Seasonal provides transportation at some locations. Contact your local center for transportation details.
Is there a fee?
EPIC Migrant/Seasonal is a free child development program that supports migrant families.
Required Documents for Enrollment:
- Proof of income for the past twelve months (W2’s, pay stubs, child support, TANF etc.)
- Child’s birth certificate
- Immunization record
- Child’s current well child (physical) and dental exams
- Medical insurance
Additional requirement for Migrant and Seasonal: At least 51% of household income must come from agricultural work and for Migrant families- Families must have physically relocated to obtain work in agriculture in the last 24 months.
