What is Early Head Start?
EPIC Early Head Start is a year round program for pregnant women, families and children from birth to age three. EPIC Early Head Start home visitors work with parents and children in several areas: immunizations and well-child exams; meeting typical developmental milestones; parenting skills; and mental wellness. Families receive a weekly comprehensive home visit and participate in twice a month group socialization times at the nearest Head Start Early Learning Center. If income eligible, the children may transition to regular Head Start at age three. EPIC Early Head Start services are offered in our 16th Avenue, Yakima/Union Gap and Tieton Early Learning Centers.
