Youth Services

EPIC has two crisis centers, the Crisis Residential Center (CRC) and the Secured Crisis Residential Center (SCRC); both of which are in Yakima.

These two centers provide immediate shelter for at-risk youth ages 12 through 17.

The CRC youth are generally referred by social workers. The SCRC youth are generally brought in by law enforcement as a runaway or in an potential risky circumstance.

While at the crisis centers youth are assessed for physical health, mental health and school and appointments scheduled, as needed. They also refer youth for any necessary community resources.

It is the goal of both crisis centers to maintain the family as a unit and prevent the need for out-of-home care by reuniting the youth with their family or foster caregivers.
