Project SafeCare

EPIC’s Project SafeCare assists families through a home-based parenting model curriculum focusing on direct skills training for parents: Attachment and Bonding, Home Safety, and Child/Infant Health Care  Skills .EPIC’s Project SafeCare is building upon its history of service and relationships in Yakima County, continuing to extend services to parents of children at risk of abuse and/or neglect.

EPIC’s Project SafeCare Objective:

  1. The child’s safety is the center of focus for the delivery of service.
  2. Assist the CA social worker to assess the safety of the child and their home environment.
  3. Engage the families to reduce the threats of hazards in the home.
  4. Work with parents to increase their safe parenting skills.
  5. Communicate with the Department any concerns regarding any safety issues regarding the child.

EPIC’s Project SafeCare Services:

  1. One home visit per week; 60 to 90 minutes each session.
  2. Train in the module specified in the referral.
  3. A minimum of 12 weekly visits for program completion in all 3 program modules.
  4. Train in the components of Attachment & Bonding, Home Safety, and Child/Infant Health Care Skills.
  5. Conduct pre & post assessment tools.

Referral Process:

  1. CA social worker will notify clients regarding EPIC’s Project SafeCare services (i.e. verbal, disclosure form or hand outs).
  2. CA social worker will document on the Safety Plan the extent of EPIC’s Project SafeCare involvement as agreed upon by all parties.
  3. A social worker will fill out the referral form and fax the form to the fax number as indicated at the bottom of the fax form.
