EPIC Region X Head StartHead Start is a Federal program for preschool children from low-income families, children with disabilities, and foster children. This program offers medical, dental and developmental screenings, and comprehensive child development services, including: nutrition, mental health, disability and family support. EPIC Region X Head Start programs are offered half days per week from September through May. |
Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP)EPIC Early Childhood Education Assistance Program (ECEAP) is a lot like Head Start, but funded by the state instead of the federal government. Children in the ECEAP program attend four half days per week from September through May. ECEAP addresses the needs of the whole child and recognizes the importance of the families by initiating early intervention to break the cycle of poverty. More about ECEAP |
Migrant and Seasonal Head StartFamilies in the Migrant/Seasonal Head Start program live at or below federal poverty levels and work in agriculture. EPIC's Migrant Head Start program operates from spring through early autumn to coincide with the agricultural work season. Children up to age 6 attend up to 12 hours per day, five days per week while their parents are at work. This gives parents a much safer option than taking children to the fiels with them. |
Early Head StartEarly Head Start is a year round program for pregnant women, families and children from birth to age three. EPIC Early Head Start home visitors work with parents and children in several areas: immunizations and well-child exams; meeting typical developmental milestones; parenting skills; and mental wellness. Families receive a weekly comprehensive home visit and participate in twice a month group socialization times at the nearest Head Start center. If income eligible, the children may transition to regular Head Start at age three. Learn more about Early Head Start |
